Gangsta's Paradise Rapper Coolio Dies At 59

Coolio's talent manager, Sheila Finegan, tells  "We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client,  Coolio, who passed away Wednesday afternoon

The Grammy-winning musician passed away at a friend's house, his manager confirmed.

Law enforcement sources said, no drugs or drug paraphernalia were found at the scene of Coolio’s death.

Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., came up on the L.A. rap scene in the late 80s, but blew up nationally in 1995 when he released "Gangsta's Paradise"

Coolio also won the Grammy for Best Solo Rap performance in 1995 for 'Gangsta's Paradise'

the song sold millions of copies worldwide, topping pop charts in 16 countries and becoming Billboard's Number One song for 1995.

He was awarded best rap solo performance for the track at the following year's Grammy Awards ceremony.
